Like the ability of a chameleon to change its colors, the who, of who I am, is an intricate composition of life. An explorer and world traveler, lover of the arts in all forms embedded in the splendor and sophistication of big city life. An entrepreneur, veteran, and an academic and social scientist driven by the need to empower others by their hidden talents. At heart, I'm still that simple Texas country boy who loves his cabin retreats to commune with nature.
Learning challenges are as old as our educational systems. At some point in our lives, we’ve all experienced these challenges in some form or fashion. Some of us were fortunate enough to devise our strategies to deal with knowledge and skills gaps to succeed. Some learners in various society segments continue to struggle to find their learning path and plan for success. I was one of the lucky ones. I wrote this book as a source to reframe learning, a practical and purposeful application of informal learning for personal and economic empowerment. If knowledge is power, content is king; indeed, informal learning is the throne.
